Food garbage includes all kinds of leftovers, vegetable waste, fruit pomace and peels, expired food, and discarded cooking oil. It has high moisture, lf not handled properly, will rot and emit a foul odor, causing environmental pollution. However, food garbage is rich in proteins, fats, and plant fibers, it can be recycled into animal feed or organic fertilizer after processing, thereby increasing its value. The first step in food garbage recycling is drying, it will reduce moisture of food garbage, sterilize and deodorizes, enabling safer utilization in other applications. So, how to dry large quantities of food garbage with high moisture content?
The drying of large quantities of high-moisture food waste requires the use of a food garbage dehydration and drying production line, which is technically upgraded from traditional drum dryers to address the high moisture and strong adhesion characteristics of food waste. This production line consists of a food garbage screw dehydration machine and a food garbage rotary dryer. Food waste with a moisture content of 75-85% (such as food sludge and residues) is first processed by the dehydration machine, reducing the moisture to 60-65%. The material is then conveyed into the drum for concurrent flow drying. Inside the drum, the material is continuously lifted and scattered by the internal rake plates, spiraling forward through the inner, middle, and outer layers, enabling heat exchange between the material and hot air. Effectively dried material is rapidly discharged from the drum by airflow, while insufficiently dried material cannot progress quickly due to its own weight, ensuring thorough drying within the controlled travel distance. This process reduces the material moisture to 15%, completing the drying cycle. The dried material is then discharged via a screw conveyor. Specialized internal devices are installed in the drum to prevent uneven drying. The dried material is subsequently processed through grinding, mixing with additives, and pelletizing to produce nutrient-rich animal feed.
Compared to traditional dryers
1. High-quality finished products: Kitchen waste exhibits significant fluctuations in moisture and grease content. Our high-temperature hot air technology, equipped with an intelligent sensing system, can swiftly adapt to load variations. The mature variable-frequency temperature control technology, combined with high-temperature hot air, rapidly dries the raw materials while preventing scorching.
2. Avoid adhesion: Food garbage is sticky and easily adheres to the cylinder wall. We have added scraping plates and a self-cleaning chain mechanism inside the drum, which effectively and reliably addresses wall adhesion issues, offering greater universal applicability.
3. Multiple heat source options: Our hot air dryers can use various fuels such as natural gas, diesel, biomass pellets, and steam, providing various energy options and lower energy costs.
4. High processing capacity: The food garbage dryer can operate continuously, with a daily processing capacity more than 100 tons, meeting the requirements for large-scale food waste treatment.
