Pasture grass (alfalfa) is an important forage crop and is widely used to feed dairy cows and other farm animals. Due to its high protein and easily digestible fiber, forage (alfalfa) is mainly harvested and made into hay, which makes it a high-quality food source for various farm animals. Alfalfa has a high water content and is prone to mold and deterioration during storage and transportation if it is not dried, affecting its quality and nutritional value. Alfalfa must be dried before it can be harvested and made into hay bales.
Jiutian pasture grass (alfalfa) rotary drum dryer has a large capacity, high efficiency, and energy-saving. It is used in conjunction with a clean hot air stove, which is especially suitable for drying high moisture materials such as forage, grass, silage, lucerne alfalfa, etc. It can quickly dry the moisture of the forage from 65-75% to 14-18%. The temperature of the forage is always lower than 50°C during the whole process. The dried hay grass completely retains the nutrients of the forage and has a bright color and a clear fragrance.
Grass drying technology has matured. Not only can we dry according to the output required by customers, but also to ensure the palatability and nutrients of the dry pasture all-year-round under the premise of more environmental protection, energy-saving, and economy. Forage dryer is not expensive, but the benefits are long-term.

Material Flow:
Crushed materials with 35–55% moisture are fed into the rotary drum for downstream drying. As the drum rotates, internal lifting plates continuously raise and scatter the material, moving it forward in a spiral path. Through the triple-layer drum structure (inner, middle, and outer layers), efficient heat exchange occurs between the material and hot air. Dried material moves quickly toward the discharge end, while wetter material remains longer for further drying. Final moisture is reduced to 12–15% and discharged by screw conveyor. A vibrating cleaning device prevents material from sticking to the drum wall.
Air Flow:
Hot air generated by the hot blast stove (300–500°C) enters the dryer for heat exchange and moisture evaporation. After cooling to about 55–60°C, the exhaust gas passes through a dust collector for purification before being safely discharged.
