Coffee grounds are the residue created when coffee is prepared. After drying, the coffee grounds can be used to make pellet fuel, or used as compost to fertilize crops.
Due to the high moisture content of the coffee grounds, in order to facilitate reprocessing and storage, it needs to be dried first. Coffee grounds can be dried using a coffee grounds dryer. The coffee grounds dryer adopts a drum-type structural design, which has a strong bearing capacity and can quickly dry a large amount of wet coffee grounds with even heating.
Working principle of coffee grounds dryer
Coffee grounds dryer adopts the downstream heating method. The coffee grounds enter the barrel from the feeding device and are pushed backward by the spiral flight board. Due to the inclined placement of the dryer, on the one hand, the material flows to the rear end under the action of gravity and rotation; on the other hand, the material is repeatedly picked up by the lifting board, brought to the upper end and then continuously sprinkled down, so that the material forms a uniform curtain in the cylinder, to fully exchange heat with the hot air in the cylinder. With the material repeatedly scattered, the moisture contained in it is gradually dried, so as to achieve the purpose of drying.
Advantages
1. Production capacity. The coffee grounds dryer has high output and strong production capacity.
2. Equipment operation. High degree of automation, simple and convenient operation, stable performance, and continuous production and operation.
3. Multiple options for heat sources. Various fuels such as coal, natural gas, steam, and biomass particles can be selected.
4. Environmental protection. Drum-type structure design, good equipment sealing, less pollution to the environment.
5. Small footprint. The production line configuration is complete, the structure design is compact, the floor area is small, and the land investment cost is low.
Materials:Widely used for drying coffee grounds, bagasse, pomace, sawdust, spent grain, etc.
Application:Drying spent coffee grounds for biomass fuel, composting, or further recycling.
Material enters the inner layer of the rotary drum for downstream drying. As the drum rotates, lifting plates continuously raise and disperse the material, enabling spiral heat exchange. It then moves into the middle layer for countercurrent drying, where repeated lifting extends the retention time and allows the material to fully absorb heat from both the inner and middle drums, reaching an optimal drying state.
Finally, the material falls into the outer layer, traveling in a multi-loop path. Properly dried material is quickly discharged under hot air flow, while wetter material remains longer due to its weight until fully dried, ensuring uniform and efficient drying.
