Application: Drying coal chemical by-products for stable storage and downstream processing.

Wet coal enters the drying drum and passes through three functional zones. In the feeding zone, the material first contacts high-temperature hot air, allowing surface moisture to evaporate rapidly before being guided forward. In the lifting zone, specially designed flights raise and cascade the coal into a uniform curtain, ensuring full contact with the hot air for efficient heat exchange. Moisture quickly evaporates and is extracted by the induced draft fan, reducing coal moisture to below 12% (or lower) and achieving a loose, free-flowing state. In the discharge zone, the dried material smoothly exits the drum, completing the drying process.
For deeper upgrading, the dried coal can further enter a rotary carbonization (dry distillation) unit. Under oxygen-free or low-oxygen conditions, the coal is thermally treated at 160–250°C (depending on coal type and product requirements), reducing moisture to below 5% and removing 40–50% of volatile components. The final product is upgraded coal with higher calorific value, lower sulfur content, low moisture, and reduced volatiles, suitable for clean energy and coal chemical applications.
