Brewer's spent grain is a solid waste left after beer production in breweries, it can be used as a high-quality animal feed. However, fresh spent grain has a high moisture content of 80-85%, this will bring many problems in utilization, transportation, and storage, easy to deteriorate and pollute the environment. So, how to quickly dry spent grain for animal feed?
The spent grain dewatering machine and spent grain dryer are the primary equipment for reducing the moisture content of brewer's spent grains. The former achieves initial dehydration of spent grain through mechanical pressing by a filter press, reducing the moisture content from 80-85% to 55-65%. Currently, there are two types of spent grain dewatering machine: spent grain belt dehydrator and spent grain screw dehydrator. The latter represents deep dehydration of brewer's grains, where the dehydrated spent grain exchanges heat with high-temperature hot air generated by hot-air furnace inside a drying drum, rapidly lowering the moisture content to achieve the drying objective. Within the spent grain dryer, the moisture content of spent grain is reduced below 15%, and it is subsequently used as a raw material for animal compound feed.
The spent grain dryer features a three-layer drum drying structure, offering a compact footprint, high thermal efficiency, simple operation, stable performance, and excellent drying results. With a processing capacity of 1-20 tons per hour, it can operate continuously for 24 hours, meeting the needs of breweries of various scales.
Zhengzhou Jiutian has extensive experience in the feed utilization of brewer's spent grain and maintains long-term cooperative relationships with several renowned breweries worldwide. Currently, we operate over 300 brewer's spent grain production lines across more than 20 countries. For further project details, please feel free to contact us.
Coffee grounds are the residue produced after brewing coffee. More than 2 billion cups of coffee are consumed worldwide every day, and most of the coffee grounds are discarded as garbage. The decomposition of coffee grounds releases methane into the atmos
Livestock farms generate a large amount of pollutants every day, including cow dung, urine, and other contaminants, with a moisture content ranging from 85% to 90%. These pollutants contain a substantial amount of undigested organic matter and insect eggs
Empty fruit bunches (EFB) are fibrous agricultural waste left over from palm oil extraction and can be processed into biomass fuel. The initial moisture content of palm fruit bunches is usually high (55-65%), and the moisture needs to be reduced to 15% be
Sawdust pellets are a type of biomass fuel with high density and high calorific value, it can replace traditional fossil fuels, reduce pollution, and achieve resource recycling. To produce sawdust pellets, drying is usually an indispensable step, because
