Spent brewers yeast liquid is a byproduct generated during the beer brewing process, it is a slurry with a moisture content more than 90%. Rich in nutrients such as amino acids and vitamins, this slurry can be processed into animal feed for livestock, fish, shrimp, etc. This not only reduces environmental pollution by transforming waste into valuable resources but also yields significant economic benefits. Before further utilization, brewery yeast liquid must be dried. So, how does the spent brewers yeast liquid dryer work?
The beer yeast liquid dryer adopts a cylinder scraper structure. The equipment consists of a drying cylinder, frame, transmission system, immersion device, material limiting device, scraping device, steam path system, and exhaust hood. During operation, the waste yeast liquid enters the storage hopper through the feeding port of the drying system, with the liquid level maintained 40–60 mm above the bottom of the cylindrical drying cylinder. When the liquid level exceeds the set height, excess liquid overflows through the overflow port to ensure consistent liquid level. The steam valve is opened to introduce steam into the interior of the cylindrical drying cylinder, rapidly raising the surface temperature. When the surface temperature reaches 80–90°C, the transmission system is activated, and the rotation speed of the drying drum is adjusted based on material conditions to ensure uniform rotation. As the drying drum rotates, it picks up material from the storage hopper, and the material moves with the cylinder. Upon reaching the limiting device, the material layer thickness is made uniform by the limiting shaft, ensuring consistent final drying conditions. The drying drum continues to rotate, gradually evaporating moisture from the material on its surface. When the cylinder reaches the scraping device, the material is scraped off and falls into the disintegration and conveying system, achieving complete discharge, simple operation, and high efficiency. The beer yeast waste liquid dryer uses steam as the heating medium, ensuring no direct contact between the material and hot air, which guarantees highly clean dried yeast.
Besides brewers yeast liquid, the yeast dryer can also dry various heat-sensitive slurries. If you have any questions about the equipment, please feel free to contact us.
