Cassava pulp is a byproduct of cassava starch extraction, primarily originates from countries with abundant cassava cultivation, such as Nigeria, Brazil, Thailand, and Indonesia. Cassava pulp contains a large amount of crude fiber, usually used in animal feed production, but due to its high moisture content, it requires dehydration first. Drying cassava pulp plays an important role in extending shelf life and ensuring feed quality.
The cassava pulp dryer is specifically designed according to the high moisture content and strong viscosity of cassava pulp. Traditional drying process uses high temperature drying, cassava pulp is prone to gelatinization, resulting in poor product quality. The new rotary cassava pulp dryer adopts a combined method of "dehydration + rotary drying + air-flow drying," effectively solving the drying challenges of cassava pulp. The dried material achieves perfect coloration, and when processed into feed, it has excellent palatability and high quality for animals.
Process flow of cassava pulp dehydration and drying line
The moisture content of cassava pulp is 75-85%. The residue first undergoes mechanical squeezing in a cassava pulp belt dehydrator, reducing the moisture to around 68%. It is then conveyed by a screw conveyor into a counterflow rotary dryer for drying. The material is continuously lifted and scattered by the lifting paddles, advancing in a spiral manner. The internal stirring paddle device thoroughly mixes, disperses, and breaks the material, maximizing the heat exchange area between the material and hot air. This ensures complete mass and heat exchange, rapidly evaporating the moisture to about 35%, completing the rotary drying process. The dried material is discharged via a screw conveyor and fed into a specialized semi-wet material crusher, reducing the particle size to below 1mm. It then enters a pulse jet drying process, where the moisture is quickly reduced to below 14% within 3-10 seconds. The dry material is recovered by a cyclone unloader and pulse bag filter, while the exhaust gas meets emission standards, completing the entire drying process. A vibration cleaning device is installed inside the drum to prevent material adhesion to the wall.
Features of the rotary cassava pulp dryer
1. It enables intelligent control, one-button operation, and automatic adjustment of running parameters, ensuring the dryer operates in an optimal state at all times to guarantee uniform and stable moisture levels in the dried material;
2. The built-in stirring paddle device thoroughly mixes, disperses, and crushes the material, ensuring full heat exchange between the material and hot gas. This enhances the unit production capacity of the equipment by over 50% and reduces fuel consumption by more than 30%;
3. Few equipment failures, low maintenance costs, and low energy consumption;
4. The dried product appears as a fine powder with uniform moisture content, bright color, and no loss of nutritional components during the drying process;
5. The cassava pulp drying production line employs specialized dispersing and crushing devices to ensure the drying efficiency of the dryer.
6. The unique sealed insulation device effectively reduces heat loss in the drying system;
7. The overall system has excellent sealing performance and is equipped with a comprehensive dust removal device, ensuring no dust overflow and a favorable operating environment;
8. The entire drying system employs centralized electrical control, with automatic adjustment of hot air temperature, featuring high automation and convenient operation;
9. After the drying section, subsequent processes such as crushing, mixing, pelletizing, and packaging can be added to produce cassava pulp pellet feed as the final product.
