Bagasse is a byproduct of sugarcane sugar production. It's the crushed, fibrous stems left after sugarcane refining and is rich in cellulose. Due to its high moisture content, bagasse is traditionally burned or discarded, resulting in low utilization rates, wasting resources, and polluting the environment. However, bagasse can be recycled through drying and other processes to create biomass fuel, organic fertilizer, paper pulp, biodegradable tableware, and other products, increasing its added value.
There are two common drying methods for bagasse: natural drying and mechanical drying. Natural drying involves laying the bagasse flat in a well-ventilated area and letting it air dry. This method is low-cost, but is subject to significant site and weather restrictions, resulting in low efficiency and a long drying time. Mechanical drying uses a dedicated bagasse dryer to quickly reduce the moisture content of the bagasse. This method allows for controlled moisture content, is not restricted by site or weather conditions, and offers high drying efficiency. While the initial investment is high, the long-term benefits are significant, making it suitable for sugar mills processing large quantities of bagasse.
The bagasse dryer features a rotary-type structure. After wet bagasse is added to the dryer, it is stirred by evenly distributed lifters within the drum, allowing it to be evenly dispersed and fully exposed to the hot air, accelerating heat and mass transfer during drying. The material is dried by the inclined lifters and the heat medium, and the dried product is discharged through a star-shaped discharge valve at the other end.

Pulp is the raw material for making paper and cardboard, which is a fiber material made from plants (such as wood, cotton, agricultural waste) or recycled paper, and is formed by decomposing and mixing with water. Wet pulp is a fiber suspension with high
In sugarcane sugar factories, after extracting sugar from sugarcane juice, the remaining sugarcane bagasse can be used as fuel for power plants or boilers. Sugarcane bagasse usually contains 48% to 52% moisture, and due to the energy consumption required
As ethanol production increases, the supply of distiller's grains also increases. Distilled grains are waste produced by distilleries after alcohol production, containing a high amount of fiber and protein, with protein content ranging from 25-35%. After
The steam tube rotary dryer is a type of rotary dryer, which consists of a tube heat exchanger, inlet and outlet center tubes, rotating drum, feeding and discharging devices, induced draft fan, dust collector, and distribution cabinet. Unlike traditional
