Huainan Power Plant Advances Coal Slime Drying EPC Project

  HUAINAN, Anhui — The EPC coal slime drying project at Huainan Power Plant is progressing steadily on‑site, marking a key initiative for the power enterprise to tackle solid‑waste challenges and advance circular economy practices. The project adopts two sets of large‑scale industrial drying equipment supplied by Jiutian. Every single unit features a designed processing capacity of 62.5 tons per hour, and the combined configuration delivers a total daily processing throughput of 3000 tons for raw coal slime.

  Coal slime is an inevitable by‑product produced during coal washing and power generation processes. High‑moisture coal slime brings multiple headaches for power plants: open‑air stockpiling triggers potential environmental risks such as leakage and dust pollution; its high water content also restricts direct reuse, resulting in waste of available energy resources. Against this background, the EPC drying solution is introduced to resolve these practical pain points. The technical system is designed to process incoming coal slime with moisture content up to 25%. After efficient thermal drying treatment, the finished product moisture can be stably controlled at ≤15%, turning sticky, hard‑to‑handle wet coal slime into high‑quality reusable fuel material.

  Delivered under a full‑range EPC model covering engineering design, on‑site construction, installation and commissioning, the project realizes one‑stop delivery of the whole processing system. The on‑site construction team is carrying out mechanical installation work in an orderly manner, strictly following process specifications and safety standards to push the project toward commissioning.

  Once the whole facility is officially put into operation, it will achieve large‑scale, continuous resource utilization of power‑plant coal slime solid waste. Besides eliminating hidden troubles caused by coal slime accumulation, the project will also improve internal fuel recycling efficiency for the power plant, lower comprehensive operation costs, and support local power industry to move toward low‑carbon, clean and circular development.
