The coal slime drying project has recently been successfully implemented in Shouyang, Shanxi. Focused on the drying and processing of coal slime, the project features a designed raw material handling capacity of 50 tons per hour, enabling continuous, large-scale drying operations upon completion.
While the initial design was based on a raw material moisture content of ≤24%, on-site surveys revealed that the actual incoming coal slime contained approximately 26% moisture—meaning operating conditions were more demanding than originally anticipated. The project’s drying line was specifically adapted to handle high-moisture coal slime; utilizing a comprehensive drying process for continuous dewatering, it stabilizes the final product's moisture content at below 14%, ensuring quality standards are met.
As a byproduct of coal processing, coal slime is characterized by high moisture content and strong adhesiveness; haphazard stockpiling not only occupies valuable space but also leads to material loss and dust pollution. Once processed by this drying system, the coal slime’s quality is significantly improved, allowing it to be recovered and reused directly as fuel—effectively turning waste into a valuable resource.
Once operational, the project will not only alleviate environmental pressures caused by local coal slime stockpiling, revitalize waste resources, and enhance comprehensive resource utilization, but also provide a viable solution for the clean and resource-oriented management of solid waste in the regional coal industry, thereby fostering a circular economy for coal-derived resources.
