Flash dryer and spray drying equipment are two commonly used drying equipment, and they have obvious differences.
First of all, the flash dryer mainly uses centrifugal force and high-speed swirling upward airflow to quickly vaporize and separate the materials in the equipment. Specifically, when the material containing moisture enters the flash dryer, it will first be affected by the centrifugal force of high-speed rotation, which disperses the material into fine particles. Then the material will be affected by the high-speed swirling upward airflow, causing the material particles to be strongly stirred and collided, thereby quickly evaporating the water and achieving drying. This operation method can be simply understood as using high-speed rotation and hot air circulation to quickly evaporate materials and achieve drying effects.
The spray drying equipment dries the material by separating the liquid material into fine mist droplets, and the mist droplets fully contact the hot air and undergo heat exchange. Specifically, the liquid material is first sprayed out by a high-speed rotating nozzle to form fine mist droplets, and then the mist droplets exchange heat with the surrounding hot air. The water in the mist droplets quickly evaporates, and finally dry solid particles are obtained. Spray drying equipment has a high degree of automation and flexible operation. The particle size, bulk density, moisture, product properties, etc. of the product can be adjusted by changing the operating conditions within a certain range.
In summary, there are obvious differences in the operation methods of flash dryers and spray drying equipment. Flash dryers mainly rely on mechanical force to achieve drying purposes, while spray drying equipment mainly dries materials by separating liquid materials into mist droplets and exchanging heat with hot air. These two operating methods are suitable for different material characteristics and production needs. Therefore, when choosing to use drying equipment, you should choose according to the specific situation.
