Beet pulp is a by-product, mainly derived from the beet sugar production process. Due to its high water content and easy corruption, it needs to be dehydrated and dried. Beet pulp dryer is a kind of equipment specially used for processing beet pulp. It converts wet beet pulp into dry material through efficient drying technology, which is convenient for storage, transportation and subsequent processing. The following are the steps and methods for drying beet pulp:
1. Initial dehydration
The wet beet pulp is initially dehydrated through a filter press or screw press to reduce the moisture content. Mechanical dehydration can significantly reduce the energy consumption of subsequent drying. After mechanical dehydration, the moisture content of beet pulp is usually reduced to 50%-60%.
2. Preparation for drying
If the beet pulp particles are large, they can be crushed by crushing equipment to increase the surface area, which is conducive to subsequent drying. The beet pulp is evenly fed into the drying equipment to ensure that the hot air can fully contact the material.
3. Drying process
The equipment is a common drum dryer. Heat source preparation: Use gas, coal, biomass fuel or electricity to generate hot air. The hot air temperature is usually controlled between 150℃-300℃, adjusted according to the characteristics of beet pulp. The beet pulp enters the rotating drum and is fully in contact with the hot air, evaporating the moisture through high temperature. The lifting plate in the drum turns the beet pulp, increasing the heating area and accelerating the evaporation of moisture. The moisture is discharged through the exhaust device, equipped with dust removal and exhaust gas treatment equipment to reduce environmental pollution.
4. Discharging and cooling
The dried beet pulp is discharged from the equipment outlet, and the moisture content is usually controlled at 12%-15%. The high-temperature dry pulp is cooled by a cooling device to avoid moisture or heat during storage.
5. Subsequent processing
Screen the dried beet pulp to remove impurities. Compress and pack or store directly according to needs.
